What Are Immediate Dentures?
Immediate dentures are made to be placed in the patient’s mouth following surgery “immediately” after extractions. Years ago patients went without teeth for up to 6 months before being fitted for a denture. This technique was thought best due to the gross amount of shrinkage that naturally occurs following the extraction of teeth. Today this is no longer necessary because of the improvements in method and materials practitioners have at their disposal. This is great news for those who wish to avoid the embarrassment that can come with being without a smile!

How Does the Process Work? We coordinate your appointments with an oral surgeon of your choice, or if you’re not familiar with one in the area, we can make a recommendation. The denture making process is started while your teeth are still existing and finished in harmony with your surgery date. This schedule is arranged so that you can be wearing your new smile home at the time of extractions. Two days after your extractions, we begin your treatment of follow up care made up of relines and adjustments. This follow up care helps to keep you comfortable as your tissue begins to heal. The length of the treatment plan will depend upon each individual’s need and is usually included in the fee. We are unique not only in the length of time these plans cover (in most cases up to one year) but also the unlimited services available to our patients.
