Replacement Denture
Why The Need for Replacement Dentures?
Too many people believe that dentures are good for at least 20 years. This belief is far from the truth! Dentures grow old faster than you do. As you age your gums shrink. This is a natural reaction to teeth being extracted. However, left unchecked, this can result in an ill-fitting denture and a “collapsed” appearance in the face. Poorly fitting dentures can also affect your health. The list of possible maladies includes: irritated gums, chronic bad breath, ear aches, jaw pain, TMJ dysfunction, dietary problems and the list goes on.
What We Can Do For You
Here at Denture Solutions:
Our denturist, Robert Palermo “Bob”, utilizes a custom denture construction process to help correct and prevent the problems associated with ill-fitting dentures. This process is designed to give you the confidence of an intimate fit while maintaining a natural looking smile.
Your first visit is for impressions. On the second visit, Bob employs a procedure designed to record precise movements of your jaw. This procedure ensures an accurate bite so you chew properly. As an added benefit, it also can help prevent adverse conditions such as TMJ dysfunction. Then, using precise facial measurements, Bob chooses the correct size, shape and color of teeth to compliment your face.
The next appointment offers you the opportunity to preview your teeth set in wax. You now have the ability to help Bob decide how your teeth will look before the final processing. Special attention is given to the appearance of the teeth and replication of oral tissue that may have diminished over the years. By restoring this lost structure and dimension in your denture, the result will reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around your nose and mouth giving you a more youthful look. A replacement denture can create the impression of a face-lift without costly and painful procedures. You’ve seen makeovers on TV why not see one on yourself?
All of our dentures are of high quality, finished by being cured under pressure overnight to create a very dense hard acrylic finish. This high quality method creates a surface that helps cut down on the absorption of odors and bacteria, as opposed to a cold cure process that leaves the denture porous where odor and bacteria can penetrate more easily. With Bob’s expertise and the above mentioned techniques, you can have a great smile again and the confidence of natural looking teeth.
You May Never Need Dental Implants.
For many people, the lower denture can be a source of frustration. We have a special soft lined
lower locking denture that utilizes the anatomy of your jaw to help hold the denture securely in place. The outcome can be a denture that “anchors” to your jaw without the aid of implants. Just think what that means for your confidence and the list of foods you could add back into your diet even chewing gum!
